3D Reconstruction and Characterization of Human External Shapes from 2D Images using Volumetric Methods

چکیده
This work presents a volumetric approach to reconstruct and characterize threedimensional (3D) models of external anatomical structures from two-dimensional (2D) images. Volumetric methods represent the final volume using a finite set of 3D geometric primitives, usually designed as voxels. Thus, from an image sequence acquired around the object to reconstruct, the images are calibrated and the 3D models of the referred object are built using different approaches of volumetric methods. The final goal is to analyze the accuracy of the obtained models when modifying some of the parameters of the considered volumetric methods, such as the type of voxels projection (rectangular or accurate), the way the consistency of the voxels is tested (only silhouettes or silhouettes and photo-consistency) and the initial size of the reconstructed volume.

Three-dimensional (3D) human body reconstruction and modeling from multiple twodimensional (2D) images is a topic of great interest and research but still remains a difficult problem. Volumetric based methods are commonly used to solve this type of problem. With those methods, from a turntable image sequence of an object, a 3D model can be built. The final goal of the work presented in this pap...

In recent years, great efforts have been made to generate 3D models of urban structures in photogrammetry and remote sensing. 3D reconstruction of the bridge, as one of the most important urban structures in transportation systems, has been neglected because of its geometric and structural complexity. Due to the UAV technology development in spatial data acquisition, in this study, the point cl...
